JASWANT GARH WAR MEMORIAL
-Jaswant Garh is one of the most emotional stops on the journey to Tawang. It isn't just a war memorial,
it's a place where history, military and legend come together.
A tribute to hero of 1962 Sino-India war the memorial honors Rifelman Jaswant Singh Rawat of the 4
Garhwal Rifles, who fought during battle of Nuranang.
The immortal soldier:
It is believed Rifelman Jaswant Singh Rawat is still guarding the post and his room is mantained as
though he remains on active duty.
His bed is made every day.
His uniform is neatly arranged.
His boots are polised everyday.
Weather viewed as military traditions, folklore or a mark of enduring respect, this practice makes
JaswantGarh unlike any other war memorial in India.
One of Arunachal's most spectacular waterfalls, plunges approximately 100m,
making it one of the tallest and most powerful waterfalls.
It's water originates from snowmelt near Sela Pass.
Shah Rukh Khan's Bollywood movie Koyla (1997) was filmed here.
